MA7 BYI REPORT

  • OK, no problems, should be there.

MySQL lost password debate

• how to hack the passwords back into MySQL?
• we have now a really big problem
• coz — error 1045 — access denied for user root
• we have lost every user access to the MySQL
• today we had to reboot the machine … which means the MySQL server was restarted … without any passwords … so cannot connect as root user
• ask google how to bypass the access controls / user / passwords etc.

• do we have a backup?
• yes, we have yesterday’s backup
• what is the format of the backup?
• it is in SQL commands, text, but it is over 100Mb and too big to edit.
• what is the table called in the password file?
• we need a way to bring the data back into the database
• start a new database, run the SQL, pray?

• intro, welcome, who we are, what BYI is, who are the artists, format

  • you have to be an author

  • after sharing / burning your idea, it goes into creative commons licence
  • it is up up on the blog with some supporting material
  • the idea then becomes real
  • we can observe it

  • can we change something about it?
  • what happens when you want to share an idea?
